LPD Players playing in college

Thats the same way Kris Jordan is at TS. He has some of the most athletic talent overall of any kid around but one hit and he has to go out of a football game. He's a good kid, but very soft.

Hopefully, Osbourne toughens up a little bit this year. I don't mean it disrespectfully either. I love watching the kid play. He's exciting as hell, fast as a cat, and seems like he really enjoys playing. He just needs to be able to put pain out of his head for a while and not take him out of the game.

That's 99% of the players now tho. I don't hink many could hack playin 10-15 years ago. It's pitiful.

Stripes was talkin bout TS...when I was there I saw some big ol boys that were fairly talented come off the field cuz of bruises and lil cuts. It was surreal to me then but now I've seen it everywhere else and I'm used to it.

This is going to sound so lame and make me "that guy" but I'm going to do it any way... my senior year I played against Grundy with two sprained ankles and an MCL sprain and came off the field for 3 plays. A.O. wouldn't play because he had a cold. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img] That's tame to some of the stuff you hear, Counts playing with a shredded shoulder, I cracked our starting MLB's sternum in Wednesday practice my SR year and he played start to finish against PV on Friday, Mike Singletary cut off a damn finger so he could play. Ok I can understand playing with a cold, bruise, fever, broken hand even but the whole cracked sternum thing is a little much. Players should be tough but smart at the same time.

Guys didn't used to come off the field...I know of more than one player, myself included, that broke a hand in a game and not only finished the game, but never missed a day of practice..and other injuries didn't keep you out unless it had to do with your mobility. Nowdays they're out 3 days with a hangnail...lol

One guy I grew up with I gained a lot of respect for after my last game at RC. He was a sophomore and started all year at corner, and started the playoff game at HB because are starting RHB didn't play due to a bum ankle, but he could have played. Craig broke the bone just behind his thumb in the first half, taped it up at halftime and didn't miss a play the whole game. I played against Appy in the 74-12 game on an ankle that had every ligament stretched to the max. I practiced, and played all week with what looked like a walking boot. Tape on the inside of the shoe, and tape on the outside. On Monday before, I couldn't even reverse pivot to make a handoff to the right. I also had shoulder issues where the bicep muscle would pop out of and back into the groove its runs through in your shoulder.

I for the most part played with a lot of guys who would play through anything. But, there were a couple who had to leave the game for a hangnail. You shouldn't even step foot on a football field if thats the case.
